The IKS Institutional Internship 2026–27 Notification has been officially released by the IKS Division, Government of India, under BG Samvahan Karyakram-6. This is an organisation-led, funded internship programme aimed at strengthening Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) through structured research and development projects.

The programme supports the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 by generating tangible academic and digital outputs such as curriculum modules, glossaries, repositories, documentaries, and educational resources rooted in IKS.

Eligibility Criteria

Principal Investigator (PI)

  • Faculty from Government / Private Educational Institutions

  • Faculty from Government Research Laboratories

  • NGOs / Trusts engaged exclusively in IKS research or education

  • Acharyas in Gurukulas / Pathashalas

  • Practicing artists with minimum 5 years teaching or research experience

Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI)

  • Same eligibility as PI

  • Minimum 3 years teaching or research experience

Intern Eligibility

  • Age between 16–30 years

  • UG / PG students or graduates from recognized universities

  • Gurukula students

  • Independent scholars

  • Graduates within the last 2 years

❌ Students and independent scholars cannot apply as PI.

Projects must strictly align with any one of the following 16 IKS thematic areas:

  1. Vedic Philosophical & Cognitive Sciences

  2. Historical & Civilizational Sciences

  3. Contemporary Social & Cultural Sciences

  4. Mathematical, Physical & Astronomical Sciences

  5. Speech & Linguistics

  6. Political, Economic & Strategic Sciences

  7. Medical & Health Sciences

  8. Culinary, Nutritional & Pharmacological Sciences

  9. Agricultural, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Sciences

  10. Performing Arts

  11. Mechanical & Digital Design & Engineering

  12. Civil & Architectural Sciences

  13. Fine Arts & Sculpture

  14. Chemical, Metallurgical & Material Sciences

  15. Fashion & Interior Design

  16. Edutainment Sciences
