NCPOR Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview for 32 Technician, Cook, Nurse & Other Posts

The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) has released the NCPOR Antarctic Recruitment 2026 Notification for contract-based positions for the 2026–2028 Antarctic expedition season. A total of 32 vacancies have been announced for various technical and support roles including Vehicle Mechanic, Electrician, Crane Operator, Cook, Nurse, and more.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility varies depending on the post and includes educational qualifications and relevant experience.

Technical Trades (VEM, VEE, OEM, STE, GMO, WDR, BPO, CPR)

For Ex-servicemen

• Trade work as per service records with minimum 4 years’ experience

For Civilians

• ITI in relevant trade with 4 years’ experience
  OR

• Diploma in Engineering in relevant field with 3 years’ experience

Crane Operator (CRO)

For Ex-servicemen

• Minimum 5 years’ experience

For Civilians

• Heavy motor vehicle license

• Experience operating hydraulic cranes (>20 MT) with minimum 5 years’ experience

Male Nurse (MAN)

• Diploma in General Nursing with 3 years’ experience
  OR

• B.Sc. in Nursing with 2 years’ experience

Preference: Candidates with OT/ICU experience

Scientific Assistant (SCA)

• Diploma in Engineering (Instrumentation/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical) with 3 years’ experience
  OR

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences / Instrumentation with 2 years’ experience

Radio/Wireless Operator (ROP)

For Ex-servicemen

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in radio communication

For Civilians

• 12th pass with GOC certificate and 4 years’ experience
  OR

• Diploma in Electronics with 3 years’ experience

Chef / Cook (CHF)

• Diploma in Hotel Management / Culinary Art with 3 years’ experience
  OR

• Degree in Hotel Management / Culinary Art with 2 years’ experience

Preference for candidates capable of handling 80–100 persons
